After the A-4 Skyhawk, Mig-21 , Mirage III and F-106 Dart, the F4D Skyray is next in my cold war delta wing series. Enjoy!

Morton,

Excellent work, it's nice to see you again! They are already approved and ready to go. :salute:

Thanx Rami! Summer has been busy for me. Hope to visit the SOH-CFS2 more regulary this autumn/winter.

Great job Morton. I've been meaning to contact you lately on your next project after the Mirages. I couldn't remember if it was the A-7, the F-106 or the Skyray - guess this thread answers that question.

Bearcat. Yes, I had these two in my "work" folder for a long time. But they were pretty straightforward jobs after the more tricky F-106. Without your help I probably wouldn't have pulled it together.
Next one? No idea yet. Several options..

Thanks very much Morton - your work is the epitome of CFS 2 skins.

Perhaps, when you have time, a paint job for an RAF 263 Squadron Gladiator which operated in your homeland in 1940?

Maybe! We have at least couple of possible paintschemes there.

..checked my harddrive. It seems I once started on a Sqd 263 Gladiator operating around Lesjaskog 1940. But I never finished it.

Half my family (mother side) is from that area. More specific the village Kvam in Gudbrandsdalen. Those who have read about the Norwegian campaign 1940 know that a few English soldiers put up a very heavy resistance for 2,3 days against the overwhelming Wermacht right here. There is a large monument at the church graveyeard honouring the British who died here while trying to halt the German advance. As a boy I used to explore the remains in the riverbanks were the English dug in . Rusty antitank cannons, helmets, motorcycle pieces etc. etc. After the war my grandmothers old farm was full of german and british military items. I wish I had known then what treasures this would have been today..

My favourite USN jet of the early (50's) cold war period. Many thanks, Mort!!!

How cool would a 1960 - "Korea Reignites" campaign be? Mig-17s, Mig-19s, Hawker Hunter, F4D, ...

I know Kevin. It's a little off topic here maybe, but nevertheless very interesting. There was also another battle here in Kvam way back in 1612. It was during the Kalmar war between Sweden and the Denmark-Norway union.(Those 3 countries always fought..) The swedes hired a scottish army which landed on the coast further north. They marched all the way down to Kvam were they was defeated by a norwegian army of farmers. (Battle of Kringen) Captain Sinclair was one of the Scottish officers who was actually buried here. You can see the place even today.

Yes! The campaigns we have are very good (Fox 4..), but ther's so much possibilities for this period.

Thank you very much Morton!

When I'll be to get out of the amazing mess I created in my aging pc with my last attempt to upgrade it with a more powerful ATI HD2400-Pro Radeon AGP I found on the surplus oldie market around here, I'll be able to enjoy your new skins.

The card, albeit of old manufacture, is spanking new and I have been battling with ATI Catalyst and Omega drivers for the last four days, but there it seems no way that I can get my XP to accept the new drivers. Even after formatting my HDD and re-install ten years worth of work.....

I hate to think that I'll probably have to format again, the card works with XP's generic VGA driver (this should ensure that, at least, it's compatible with my olde machine) but the screen goes black as soon as I install the proper driver. I have just finished re-downloading the drivers, just to make sure mine weren't corrupt, but I am quickly losing hope that this new card will ever work on my machine.

This was my last attempt to upgrade since I cannot consider a new pc for now, and it's becoming a true nightmare.

Cheers!

Kelti,
Off-post I know, but have you downloaded and installed DirectX 9.0c? Make sure you have this version, and re-install it, just in case, and make sure you un-install ALL drivers before hand. Omega drivers do not work correctly with XP, so best left out.

If you've not already done this, read the AMD ariticle 20870, then use this hotfix first to get the AMD/Ati correct drivers to recognise the AGP HD2400, then install the suggested driver.

p.s.:bump: back to subject of the post!

Thanks Morton, nice work as always!

The Skyray is a classic and is a record breaker for speed and climb during its era of flight operations.

The He219 is a very nice addition also.

Thanks again, Sir!
