New Topic; Worlds Best Laptops

Lionheart

SOH-CM-2014
Hey guys,

Worlds best laptops for gaming. Know any?

This is a laptop that will take FSX, chew it up, and spit it out at 40 to 100 FPS....

My votes are for;

* Choice One: Apple MacBook Pro 17" UniBody with Intel dual core chips, and dual nVidia graphics chips (2).

* Choice Two: Alienware M9700 / M9750 with dual SLI nVidia cards and dual HD slots, (huge casing, available in metallic blue, lime green, and Special Ops black).

Lets hear how many exotic, powerful lappies there are... :ernae:

The latest Alienware M17 will easily outperform the M9700/9750 series. The Dell XPS m1730 is a fantastic notebook too.

I got the Apple MacBook Pro 17, and like it. The only thing I use it for is on line banking, and downloading my pay check. I don't surf the web with it or have email on it either. I want this to be the most secure computer I have. I have Windows XP Pro and Leopard installed on it using Apple dual boot program. It hasn't missed a beat since I brought it....but I only use it about twice a week...Mike

The best one is probably the one I do not own ...

(I really need to look at investing in a laptop eventually ... )

Best one? Well I've seen a lot of nice ones at www.sagernotebook.com. They would certainly outperform any Macbook ;)

My favorite is definitely the ASUS eee netbooks. I don't know what I'd do without my 1000H. I would like to buy one of the newer netbooks that is supposed to have dedicated graphics later this year...

so if you are playing fsx on a laptop, then you are flying with the "mouse" yes? hooking up a yoke and pedals, or a hotas would kinda defeat the purpose wouldn't it?

For a year and a half I played FSX on my ASUS C90S. I used the "small" Logitech 3D pro joystick with it. Worked quite well until the DVD drive failed, screen got scratched, and I burnt out the graphics card from too much overclocking... :icon_lol:

Which Sager? The one that weighs 12 lbs, is 3" thick, and sucks batteries dry in the blink of an eye? :173go1:

lolol...

I'll bet the Alienware does that as well, lol.. Takes a ton of energy to run some of these games. If you are not plugged in, the laptop will ususally go out in min's unless you are in power conservation mode (when unplugged).

I have a hp DV6000. Beautiful looking unit. When I go up north for the weekend, I bring a joystick and a aux NumPad and the USB Aux Stick for plugging everything into. Great for road trips and when the main computer is down. It will not run FSX though, and doesnt do the best with FS9 either. Mainly just an emergency laptop.

Yup :bump:

And that is exactly why I won't buy another "gaming" laptop. My C90S was like a reactor. It should have had its own cooling tower in our back yard lol... :icon_lol:

The Apple is both a great gamer and a great multi use computer. After all of these years, I have seen the blinding light .

I looked at laptops that would run FSX when I upgraded about 2 months ago. What I found out was I was too cheap to lay out that kind of change to maybe play a game I don't have.

So I bought a Toshiba Satellite A-505,I have gone from an A-215 to an A-305 to this one.(I might add that I spilled a bottle of water into the A-305....sizzle):USA-flag:
