My dad is a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas giving. His tradition is cash! So yesterday, I stopped by Best Buy and finally got that X52 I've been wanting!:applause:

I spent a couple of hours last night figuring out what to do with all of the gadgets, but I'm just about set. I have Mixture and Pitch set to the rotary knobs on the throttle, and Spoilers are mapped to the "Precision Slide." I think I'm happiest about having slider control over the spoilers. Now when I'm trying to slow to 250 as I pass under 10,000', I don't have to slam everything to the front because I just stuck two billboards straight up. I can feather them up just a little and maintain control!

Cotrol movement is completely different from what I'm used to, since everything takes more movement to get the same results as before. I'm used to needing just over an inch of travel to get full throttle, now it feels like my hand is going halfway to the back of my desk! But so far I'm very happy with it, and I may even try my hand at helicopters again!:faint:

How did you do that? I tried, but I never quite managed it. I would like to have rudder and elevator trim assigned to the rotaries.

:)

Just go to Settings > Assignments and click the Joystick Axes tab. Select the axis you want to assign, click the Change Assignment button, then move that axis on your stick. FS will detect the movement just like it does when you press a button. Start a flight and check the function - you may need to go back and check the Reverse Axis box.
