New version of EditVoicepack coming

New version for FSX and P3D with additional features, etc coming soon. Will be payware, but the author claims that the price will be reasonable.

This is one of those addons that I believe is fundamental for flightsim users.

Interesting. I've used the freeware version for years and have been quite satisfied. It will be interesting to see what the payware version will bring to the table.

Currently unable to install because it seems to insist on trying to locate the FSX folder, which I don't have any more. Images on Simmarket suggest it's compatible with all three sims, but it seems to want FSX to get started. I have posted on their Support Forum so I'll see how that goes.

I'm very curious as to what it does that's over and above what it already did. It's not really clear from the description as to why it's an upgrade, other than to support P3Dv2.

But that's my point - it's not clear what are actually new changes. It's been awhile since I seriously messed with it, but from just opening up the version I have on my pc right now, I can quickly see that most if not all the points listed on that page were already present - ICAO phraseology, callsigns, aircraft types, airport names. The only one I can't quickly figure out is speeding up the speech, and I'm sure that you can do that somehow in the previous freeware releases.

Not that I have anything against the developer wanting to bring it to payware - kudos to him if it means ongoing development and support.

Edit:

I've found the change list in the forums there: P3D Support, Easier to use Interface, Windows 8 64 bit Support.

I do not have P3D.
I never had problems with the old interface.
I do not have Windows 8 in any form.

So what's in it for me? So far, it sounds like I am just as well to stay with the free version.

Oh, and the free version had 3 voice speed settings, if I recall correctly. Stock, faster, and fastest, or something like that. I set mine to the faster setting.
