New Video- OV-10A

Nice vid, and I agree, that model is fantastic. I admire how much work went into coding the Garrett engines to behave right, which seems to be a problem.
Since this is one of my favourite aircraft, I supplied the dev team with some material I have back then, and they even implemented my suggestion to bend the antenna(s) on the back of the twin booms during flight. Great job.

Again, nice video!

Cheers,
Mark

Last time I touched an OV-10 was in 1991 when an A model came into our field and suffered a post landing failure of a component related to the fuel system for the right engine. The flight crew was stranded until a maintenance crew came down a CH-46 with the parts and by the following morning had it up and running again. They ended up needing extra fuel because they were going to conduct a test flight enroute back to the MCAS. When I grabbed the fuel truck and headed over to the restricted ramp where they were parked, I remember getting into an argument with the Master Sergeant over what type of fuel I had on board the truck. He asked for JP-5/AVCAT and I told him all we had on the field was Jet A. He stood there with a pissed off stare as if I was jerking him around and I explained that we had been fueling transiting Navy/Marine F/A-18's and AV-8B's all week with the same fuel which BTW was cleared by the IG for use in every aircraft the Marine Corps and Navy had which usually transited our field. He ordered one of his subordinates to physically check the load of fuel and then proceeded with the fueling. He then cooled off a little and explained(with a barking voice) why he distrusted FBO personnel (due to previous incidents). I waved my access and qual badge right under his nose (which was in plain view the entire time) which indicated I was fully qualified to fuel and provide other specific ground services to Military & Govt Aircraft (and I had just handled a B-52G, KC-135R, KC-10A, and E-3B AWACS that morning). Then he finally got off my back. LOL! I did take note of the general condition of that particular OV-10A which to be honest looked very neglected. By that time they were on their way out but just months later would end up in their last hurrah in Desert Storm. I had heard from former Marine CC's that the OV-10 had in fact been neglected towards it's end due to it's logistics/parts pipeline beginning to dry up. It seems that "Slow Mover" FAC aircraft had fallen out of favor with the some of the past Leadership of the Marine Corps (as well as the Air Force) well before those type of aircraft were ready to retire and more emphasis being placed on TACP's. Anyhow, great birds while they lasted!
