I have been working on this for some time (Slow WIP) but hope to produce a nice aircraft for all to injoy. It will be a FSX nativ with bump mapping and VC, not too good with making my own guages so I will use defalt FSX Accl guages.
 
I hate it when racers do that to real classic aircraft in real life, but no objection in sims. :) That's looking awesome, Bill!
 
You could use the FSX Acceleration P51 Racer panel "as is" - it's a modern Reno race panel, so it'd do the job well enough.

That particular plane shape - are you going to do "World Jet" with the contra rotating props too? Grren wings, shiny bod and #38 on the tail... Or are you aiming at "Dago Red" and "Strega"?
