Newbie to IL-2 - Some basic questions

I have recently installed Il-2 Forgotten Battles and I have some really basic, and perhaps sily, questions.

1. Is there some sort of manual or readme which will provide information about the game? I've looked everywhere and cannot find it.

2. Is there the equivalent of quick combat missions?

Hello,

please read my tips and hints thread sticky here in the forum. But my first question is, did you get IL2 1946 or the old "Forgotten Battles" ?

Wsmwsm,

There is a digital copy of the original manual on the 1946 DVD. There is also a copy, IMS, on the Forgotten Battles CD.

There is a great deal of flight assistance information on IL-2 related sites, in addition to SOH, particularly at Mission4Today and SimHQ. There are several "training" schools around, including Joint Ops, for those interested in such things.

For advanced training and flight combat tips uniquely IL-2, try Dart's Pages.

Hope this helps.
