• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

If you're new to OFF... let's hear how you're settling in!

As for me:

I played a couple hours in the "Quick Missions" using unlimited ammo and the invincible setting. Got to where I could fly well enough to stay on a EA and get a few shots off. Had to break the habit of spraying bullets into the air... and am trying to be more selective now. Started a Campaign and have flown one mission (defend the airfield from incoming EA). I shot down an "Ace"! Hooray for me!

As for how OFF performs on my machine:

Machine Specs -
AMD Barton 3200
GeForce FX 5700 vid card
1 Gig RAM
Intel onboard sound.

I am currently running 1024 x 768 and am getting 37 FPS. Next time I'm in the sim, I'm going to bump my resolution up. (And check for any details that can be added?)

One thing for sure: It's a ton of fun!

Edit: Oh... and I disabled the air raid sirens. Though an excellent sound wav, I began to tire of it quickly. :D
