Newest Fave Biplane

aeromed202

SOH-CM-2014
Came across this little gem while browsing. The file is stampe04.zip at Flightsim, by Eric Dantès, (I think. The notes are in French). Comes with nice cockpits too, 2D and VC. There are also some fanciful textures out there to lighten things up. I fell in love with those swept wings.
If anyone wants I can post my cfg edits that make her more spritely in the air.

I agree very nice freeware ...heres some of my pics with its contemporary aircaft from Europe ..the Jungmann (Fischer freeware), Tiger Moth (JustFlight) and the Stampe

I'd like those config tweaks aeromed. I love a spritely bi-plane.

My favorite bi-plane is the Tigermoth....Have three or four versions installed in my Golden Wings GA install (Wozza, Bill Lyons, somebody else) and there all nice...but I like the old Alpha Sim freeware one for CFS2/FS2002. Too bad it won't work in FS2004. Maybe once I get some fresh paint onto the Bill Lyon's TM, it will be more to my liking.

FS seems particularly good for bi-planes. Love the Bucker (though I did have to avert my politically correct eyes away from the Hakenkreuz).......... I jest:monkies:

Were'nt two Stampes used for the movie "High Road to China" with Tom Selleck ?... :kilroy:

Just love this movie. Great biplan scenes from start to finish... :icon29:

Cheers

Ahhh yes.. I prefer the Bucker personally, but I have the Stampe and it is a true GEM!

Yes, the Jungman is my absolute favorite biplane in FSX. It has one of the best virtual cockpits I've seen, and the external model is simply fantastic.

This Stampe is indeed a very nice aircraft. Somewhere there must be a version with a brushed alluminium panel.

Cheers,
Huub

Hi Huub,
do a search at flightsim.com for the "stampe11.zip" file, might be what you are looking for...

These are the relevant changes I made to the original. I assumed this aircraft had no steerable tail wheel so it is now rudder steered on the ground too. Just copy/paste them over their counterparts and have fun.
