Welcome to Queenstown!

Cheers,

Looking great Markus! :ernae:

That's one repaint that I'll definitly add. (Now to go learn how to fly the Dash 7)

A lot of good capability in the Dash-7, created when the idea of relieving interurban flight airport congestion was to have STOL runways. Sadly for the D-7 the idea never took hold. The biggest issues with the plane? Too slow and somewhat high on maintaince with four engines.

Super manuverable in high winds and turbulence with all the spoilers and huge rudder. Side window in the cockpit had 109 moving parts......

The AOA indicator in the cockpit is quite useful for STOL approaches. otherwise use the provided V speeds.

Cheers: T

Very nice, Markus! I see you have all the right NZ scenery installed too ;) - although did you know that Lawrie Roache did retro AI for the era?
Hard to believe they fly 737's into Queenstown these days eh?

Milton - thanks for the links. I didn't realise you had further upgraded the Dash7.

Great aircraft model, great paint.
Courcheval...Innsbruck - now: Queenstown and Milford Sound

And it's up at FlightSim right now.. I just downloaded it. Thanks Markus... I'll be flying it online with Flight 19 tonight. (should be interesting as I've yet to fly the Dash 7)

You'll like it Willy - she's a very forgiving bird and great fun to drop onto tiny little strips. She hauls to a stop in less than 2000' with no problem at all. Just pop the spoilers and nail reverse the instant you touch down. And getting out is easier when you can pull onto the active and then reverse yourself all the way back to the edge, then let 'er rip!

Air Tindi up here seems to have a low maintenance record with there fleet of D-7's. D-7 is wonderful cold birdie and loves the Arctic temps.

Had a very nice flight over the North African coast from Tunis to Tripoli in the Dash 7. I spent most of it trying to figure out what all the switches and stuff were for and it took me a bit to sort the autopilot on the start. Maybe I should have gotten the optional manual with it? And I did make one small mistake on landing. I hit the spoilers to slow down on approach and forgot to close them back up. Made for kind of a sudden last drop onto the tarmac.

Thanks again for the Newmans paint Markus.

Hi,

Really a great plane.
Was lucky years ago to make some flights in the Dash 7 (under the colour Pelita Air) between Medan and Jakarta (Indonesia) and between Jakarta and Singapore.
(I was working there under leasing for Conoco Phillips on a oil rig)
It's noisy inside .. lol.
Will be great if Markus can make one under Pelita Air colours :)
The Milton Dash 7 is my prefered 4 turboprops in FS2004 !

Thanks to all of you for this kind feedback!
Very much appreciating your replies.

@ Tom:
Lake Tekapo and Wanaka are from the payware "RealNZ" collection, available here:
http://windowlight.co.nz/store/inde...Path=1&zenid=c2831d4ce3373fbfe04ded83ca40be90

Christchurch/Canterbury Photoreal Scenery & Airport is freeware:

Beware: It's a 270 MB download - but worth every single bit!

Queenstown (freeware) was done by Peter Lohr:

@ Charl:
Haven't yet installed the RetroAI pack, but I know that Snowman collected quite a bunch.
I wonder if he'd be interested in adding an AI version of this Dash7...

@ Claudius:
Sorry, mate - but I currently need some recreation from this bird...

Cheers,
Markus.
