And this one is perhaps a bit less predictable. South Africa received a total of seven early Mk.I Hurricanes in the Spring of 1939.

Thank you! They aren't as detailed as they might be, but they'll do.

Here's the next one, from No.11 Group Pilot Pool at Sutton Bridge. It's been fitted with a 3-blade airscrew, although it still has 'rag' wings.

Type conversion aircraft. Target tugs had equal width diagonal black and yellow bars.

Thanks!

Next one, this time from the Air Component:

Just a patch... Not sure why, or why the code is painted over what appears to be an otherwise unpainted patch.

Bit of this, bit of that - imported from MAW, ETO and OFF... no idea what's what! But cloud sliders on... 3?

Bored yet? This one's from France in 1939. The interest, other than the Squadron markings, lies in the Gloster factory-applied pre-war roundels. It took Glosters until the middle of 1940 to start using the duller colours introduced at the time of the Munich crisis.

Bored?... not bl**dy likely as Hurries have always been me favorites.
...and thanx for doing a 'nut-job' 85 squadron a/c. Somehow I feel a certain kinship there! :playful:
ps: Do you know their stats whilst posted in France... skirmishes, which airfield(s), when
and why they split back to jolly old, who their fearless squadron leader wuz and anything
else you may think of... Oh, maybe a link?
Thanks in advance and cheers
