Just wondering what everyone's favorite/most sucessful aircraft is in Phase 3, and why?

In the past phases I could not get enough of the N17, but now it has become the Spad 13. Once I got the hang of fighting with a little patience, the Spad can take on anybody anytime. I learned to keep the fight at altitude, keep speed at maximum, and to aim from distance. It actually makes me feel like more of a real prize fighter, than a down and nasty scrapper. Besides the fact that the Spad can outpace anybody, and get me home. Its a thoroughbred, it just took time for me to appreciate it. At first I hated it, but my tactics where completely wrong; so I kept plugging away and lo and behold I have proved to myself the saying that "its not the plane its the pilot". And thats not so easy to admit......but at least now I don't nearly panic at the sight of DVIIs. And how many pilots did I kill to learn this....don't ask.:faint:

IMO it's the plane AND the pilot. Put Richthofen in a Fokker E.III his entire career or McCudden in a BE12; neither would have lasted as long as they did. Although, any airplane make/model can shoot down any other make/model, providing you are in range and have the element of surprise. I'll take speed and surprise over maneuverability any day.

SPAD is pretty good, eh? I've always loved the SPAD XIII, and I know she's fast. Perhaps tonight I'll strap her on and give her a go. I'll follow your tips and use it in more of a BnZ capacity. I've been getting a taste of that anyway with the Albatros D.III. Chasing those Sopwith Pups around was like trying to catch a rabbit! Using BnZ made things much better.

Call me a scrapper, but I love my turn fighters! The Camel and especially the DrI. How I would love to get my hands on Voss' ride with that Bentley!
Hey! That's an upgrade! Put the performance of the Bentley in Voss' DrI.
Krumpets, Beware!

Favourite?

Heck, I'm flying the EIII more than anything else. Can't say I love it though. I love to fly the Bebe but lord a'mighty it's got no ammo. I'm doing well to down 2 E/A when flying that bird, but I love how it handles. No favourite yet as I have not come close to flying them all. Being anal I'm starting at the beginning and trying to do an Udet. Crazy huh?
