Nice new fs2004 sceneries you can't have

Motormouse

SOH-CM-2025
Remember that scenery for Macau that got released then went missing only 1 day later?

Here's their site ---> http://mfsg.forumn.org/f34-sceneries
nice screenies of some really good looking sceneries, but no other details, and if you try and register you'll get a message
that admins have forbidden new members :isadizzy: and its' not a defunct forum as last post was yesterday...

Talk about a closed shop!! :angryfir:

Malaysian Pink Taper

:icon_eek:Tapir anyone????
Pete, old matey - you sure can spot 'em.:wiggle:

IMO the whole thing's one big glamorous wind-up...a pink Malaysian tapir:

If you look at the posts, they're all by this one bloke; Pegawai!
(I've heard of porkaway, but this one appears to be a whole new ball-game in FS Pretend)

Go to a topic and 'press' - all you get is a slideshow of what blokes like you and me 'think' we need in the way of eye-candy.

But I say: "we don't!"

Even Blackbird686 ( :USA-flag: ) and Matt... as blottoed as they usually are on that foul tasting aniseed pop will recognise this sham for what it surely is.

Anyone can see that the 'sceneries' are in fact 2D renditions made using cardboard-cutouts that Porkaway has been saving from the back of his Rice-Krispies' boxes.

There aren't any replies to the 'topics' either, just a load of zero's.
Even Einstein would have surely included a few 1's in there somewhere for good measure, relatively speaking ...(Steve Hawking might have thought of a zero theory though, to be fair).

How many members?
Just pork away, pal!

Long live the creators of freely given REAL sceneries like Marham, Duxford, MAIW, etc, etc...!!!

EDIT: The title's a dead givaway: MFSG (Malaysian Flight Simulator Group).
How can you have a group of 1????...saying that - I s'pose you can...3 in 1...just like Wash 'n Go heh? :isadizzy:

How about using the contact form provided at the bottom and politely inquiring about the "how"s and "why"s of the add-ons and/or applying for membership instead of wildly throwing mud?

Also, has anyone of you two ever considered that the closed registration might just have the purpose of holding off spambots and that thread contents can be selectively hidden to non-registered users?

Gah, and you wonder why developers stop developing...or keep their work to themselves...

Bah humbug,

I wouldn't bother after having the door slammed in my face:
"Administrators have forbidden any new members"
The message couldn't be clearer than that.

SOH rightly have pretty careful registry regulations too. But it's done in a polite way.

No mud throwing Bjoern, it's not the way we do things here.
Seeing the funny side of things isn't the same.

Developers stop developing?
Not around here they don't - plenty of friendly sharing and teamwork.

Sharing's always the name of the game.

My sincere apologies to any developers who have gone to ground as a result of my rash and highly improper comments.

But, I suppose not being a developer, I am hardly qualified to comment.

you mean i have to put the L110 away now? and not fire when they stick their heads up? well.... ok..... but only because i know a lot of good developers :icon_lol:

.... free time! and i'm running off to my Warbird hangar before someone grabs me..... got to go throw some new clothes on Warwick Carters P-51D-25 :jump:

Who told you to touch the L110?

You're not a developer either, so only the 'O'12 for you until promotion, my lad.:sheep:

I remember one of those scenery (Macau) was released and stay some days up at Flightsim or Avsim
This was many critisism about this scenery cause a bug on a runway if I remember well
I suppose the author was upset by those (not being "cold blood" :) ) and the upload was removed
It's my remembrance of the story ....

That's just "Administrators have locked the registration form" in other words.

As I've said: A polite request (with a promise not to complain about any bugs, considering what Navtech said) could get you in there and download the sceneries.

SOH rightly have pretty careful registry regulations too. But it's done in a polite way.

The message is most probably just the default one for the board system used.

Seeing the funny side of things isn't the same.

Taking the peeve out of a developer just because he does what he has the right to do doesn't count as "nice" and "funny" in my book.
Especially when he didn't give you any reason to do so.

Not around here they don't - plenty of friendly sharing and teamwork.

I remember some drama that made some developers not posting here anymore. But that was over in the FSX section.

Sharing's always the name of the game.

It's not. I make it, so I have the right to set any terms and conditions for usage, distribution and modification.

Lol. I see even my views on the joys of sharing are in gross danger of misinterpretation.

Let's not do this - to be frank, I neither have the time, inclination nor interest in nit-picking about what is or isn't 'developer' etiquette.

Not being a 'developer', I'm obviously way out of my little league.

As I've said; if anyone has been offended by my comments, then I apologise.:)

And that lack of drama is why I like it here in the FS9 section so much. It's been a long time (still not long enough) since I had to toss my wet asbestos blanket onto a thread, and I'd rather keep it locked safely away. Let's keep things civil, please.
