Nice price on hard drives

Newegg is selling those 300gig 10,000 rpm Raptors for 99.00 with free shipping. WD selling them for over 200.00. I brought 3 of them...not a bad price if ya looking to save some money on a fast hard drive.

I have my Win7 installed on a 300 gb velociraptor. It rocks. Makes me angry that I paid $220 for mine though. :a1451:

I may have to pick one of these up. I have an older WD Raptor 150GB that I bought 3 computers ago... doubling that would be awesome!

Ever since being the owner of a SSD, traditional HDDs are just...old. No matter how fast they are supposed to be. :d

Watch your Raptors! :)

The ones for $99 at Newegg are the same ones I brought over into my new build from my old system. They are the older VRaptor HLFS 300s that run at SATA 3.0.

The newer VRaptor 300's are running at Sata 6.0 and will still set you back about $200 a pop.

That's the one personal conflict I'm having with my parts and pieces in my new system. The Asus Sabertooth has the SATA 6.0 connections and speed. So I'm bottlenecking at that point by running my old VRaptors.

I had a loose dollar figure that I was trying to shoot for when I built this new system and at the time I didn't want to up the price another $425-$450 with the faster VRaptors.

After seeing how well this thing runs so far and knowing that I've got a little more obvious potential with some SATA 6.0s. I may give in and go for two new ones.

Right now in the HAF932's drive bay which I'm calling the "Zoo" 'cause is filled with creatures. :)
