I don't know anything about Nick Lowe, other than he is known mostly for the song, "Cruel To Be Kind".

But I downloaded the song today, and was listening to it. Good song.

The following link is to a site belonging to Darryl Hall. Darryl hosts live performances with a lot of different singers on his site, and there are many recorded sessions; one of them being with Nick Lowe. If you go to this site, scroll down until you see that song listed:

and then the original version by Nick:

it is a cool song. forgotten by alot of people, but still cool. when mtv was new, i remember everyone singing that song

I quit watching tv a long time ago, but didn't know MTV had stopped playing music videos. What about VH1?

I'm old Chief, I remember when Nick Lowe was bassist with the band "Brinsley Schwartz". I liked the somewhat country sound that "Brinsley Schwartz" had. "Cruel to be Kind" was originally sung by Lowe while with the band.
