• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Hi guys. I cranked up P3D last night, and noticed that I've no sound for atc. The text window is there and functions normally. Anybody else ever had this to happen?

I had this happen with an earlier version of Prepar3D - about version 3 I think. Have not had the issue with v4 and 4.5. The ATC window was present but grayed out and no sound or response - at times it would return to normal - and I never found a fix. I did read that it was a glitch in the version which would be fixed in an update and that was the case for me. In another situation I lost the ATC sounds and it was related to my setup in the "sound" settings under controls in the sim.
A bit vague I know but hopefully it might be a start in finding the fix.

Happens to me periodically when P3D reverts its sound assignments to Windows default for some unknown reason. The fix is to go to the sound dialog and select your actual soundcard and microphone from the drop-down menus. Also, make sure voices are checked on. Hope this helps.
