No ATC

Hello All. Quick question. I switched out my vid card, and now have no ATC. Related? Not related? I do not know. Just freakin weird. Anyone have any thoughts as to where everyone in my sim world disappeared to? I hit the accent key and the ATC window opens. But it is blank. There is no chatter. I am sooo alone.
 
I had that happen once, but ended up doing a new install and moving my add ons over to it.
 
Have you checked the volume control sliders? there is one for atc..


Does the sound folder contain either the file:
USEnglishBig.gvp or USEnglishSmall.gvp
(available from disk 2, msgame4.cab for the small 3 voices or msgame5.cab for the big ten voices)

also check for ATC.DLL in the Modules folder.


You may have missing compressed audio codecs.

The files all seem to be present. The ATC window even opens. Just no-one to talk to or ATC chatter. Even if I set up a flight, I cannot ask for flight following. Go figure.
 
Make sure your pilot has a voice assigned to him and to ATC. Its in the Settings.

Maybe you accidentally stumbled upon the newest master tweak for FS2004: The Reagan Years. The entire ATC Union has voted for a strike, towers coast to coast have gone silent, and President Reagan, in the early stages of Alzheimers, has forgotten to fire them all and replace them with new and untrained workers.
