i just received an email stating that David Mulcahy, aka, No Dice passed away on July 7, 2019.

Rest In Peace, my old friend.

it was a pleasure working with you.

Hello all,

I just got the same message a few minutes ago.

This is a real shock.

Does anyone here know any more about what happened?

- Ivan.

Hello Folks,
I am very sorry indeed to hear about Dave aka No Dice passing away.
He did such wonderful work with his FreeFlight Site, which has helped
so many simmers in so many different ways.
We have lost someone very dear to us all.
My sincere condolences to his family.
Rest in Peace, Dave.

Just got the message in my filtered "unwanted" and came here to see.

When I looked at his signature "Laissez les bon temps rouler", it hit me; he just posted here wishing me happy birthday...

Well... what can I say... the hurting is for the living. I just wish those, near and far that knew him, that sorrow will be filled by the good memories he left us.

As for you, No Dice, puisse les bons temps continuer de rouler.:wavey:

Hello Hubbabubba,
Yes, I noticed as well. Very sad.
I remember he made a beautiful panel and excellent custom gauges for the
Heinkel 162 "Sparrow" jet a few years ago.
He was a great guy, always ready to help. How sad, and how unfair, but such is life.
The good memories remain.
Cheers,
Aleatorylamp

Yet another memory failure...

Hello Hubbabubba,

I made a dreadful mistake in my last post...

I got totally confused with the nicknames, and when I had a look into the readmes of the Heinkel 162 "Sparrow", I saw that the author of the lovely gauges and wonderful panel hadn´t been poor Dave, and on top of that, I couldn´t remember the nickname/aka of the author, so I e-mailed Smilo, who told me it was you!

Aarrghh! :banghead: My awful memory!

There´s this medicine I´ve been having to take for the last two years, that often plays such terrible pranks on my mind, much to the desperation of some people who have even taken offense, so I hope you will be patient with my defects and forgive my faux pas!

Hoping all´s well with you and yours,
Cheers,
Aleatorylamp

"L'erreur est humaine" as it say.

No Dice did many other things for CFS1 (and 2) that commands our respect and admiration. His site was a trove of knowledge and a corner store for all novelties and "got to have" files.

No need for apologies, Aleatorylamp.

Thank you, Hubbabubba!

Yes, indeed! Ever helpful NoDice would always come up with pertinent suggestions relative to useful material on his site, whenever I posted a query in this sense on either of the two Forums.

It is fortunate and important, the good work Rami is doing, with help from others, to take care of having NoDice´s site secured, or rescued, as it were.

Cheers,
Aleatorylamp

The thing that I will remember the most about No Dice is how he was able to find a compliment for everyone's work.
He would use a lot of superlatives in his descriptions and always have something nice to say.
I mentioned this to Anna Honey when I heard about his passing. She commented that this was a great skill that most people do not have.
I know that I do not have this skill.

He will be missed.

- Ivan.

Perhaps I am also getting a bit confused in my old age.
I thought I was the person that did the programming for the Jet Turbine gauges for the Heinkel 162.
This is one of two work directories I have for gauges for the Heinkel 162.

Yes, in fact, Ivan is correct. The rpm gauge is his.
I was referring to the panel and gauges provided by Hubbabubba.
Cheers,
Aleatorylamp
