• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

No financial crisis at Mercedes...

After five years the production of the McLaren SLR will come to an end, and to 'celebrate' this Mercedes-McLaren will build 75 of this extreme 'Strirling Moss' edition. Named after the driver that won the 1955 Mille Miglia in the 300 SLR. The new SLR is styled after this legendary car and will have no roof or windows. It's powered by the same 650 bhp V8 as in the 'standard' SLR's and will accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds and will not stop until it has reached a topspeed of 218 mph (350 kph).

It will only cost a mere €750,000 (1,044,262 USD, 696,549 GBP or 1,535,431 AUD at the moment) but you will have to add local taxes etc. to that price. Mercedes will only sell you one if you already own a normal SLR though; guess I will have to sell that Enzo now to fit this in my garage... :d

Well, Living in a country where you have a lot of sun is a good thing if you buy a car without a roof... ;)

I think the front looks better than on the original SLR, but the rear doesn't look good to me.

Be much better to use the original 300SLR shape with modern running gear, more to the point, how about a run of replica 300SLR coupes .....??
The 'Uhlenhart Express'.
