• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

No navaids in MSFS

When trying to plan a flight in MSFS2020 I cannot locate any VORs, NDBs, Intersections or Upper or Lower Jetways. To get these do I have to subscribe to Navigraph? Or is it something that hasn't been added as yet.

No, they should all be there.

When you have the World Map view open, note that there are some options at the bottom of the map. One of these is "Open Filters". Click on that, or press the 'F' key to open the filter settings. There you can scroll down to the bottom and make sure that Navaids is turned on.

Since MSFS no longer remembers your preferences for the filter since the first update, if you want to change the defaults, you'll need to edit an xml file. Go to Packages\Official\OneStore(or steam)\fs-base\worldmap and find the worldmap.xml file there. The language is easy enough to suss out to find what you're looking for. Just change the OFF to ON. If you're using Notepad++, the switch for navaids is on line 234. Here's mine after the edit:

Edit: Don't forget to make a backup of the original...

Thanks John and Tom. This 74 year old brain isn't functioning at its best at times. MSFS2020 is a steep learning curve.
