No wheels!!

I pulled my CS C-130 from the hangar this morning, and had no wheels or props. :isadizzy:

I recall that there is an aircraft.cfg entry that allows FS9 to run older, FS 2000 models and fix this sort of thing.

Anybody recall??

Thanks in advance

open FS9.cfg, scroll down to the heading FRAMECALLNOWARN, find your aircraft and change the 0(zero) to 1 (save your work) or you can delete the aircraft entry under the heading FRAMECALLNOWARN , restart FS9, select the aircraft and select "No" at the popup box.

example:
[FrameCallNoWarn]
Beechcraft Staggerwing=0

change to

[FrameCallNoWarn]
Beechcraft Staggerwing=1

If I recall right, that will usually give you visible gear and flaps, but I don't think the props will show from those older models.

Looks like a reinstall is in order.

The [FrameCallNoWarn] section was not in my FS9.cfg, but it was previously. Likely it got dropped when I had to rebuild FS9.

I added the [FrameCallNoWarn] section and tried several settings such as full=1 and C130=1, but nothing worked.

If anyone wants to post their exact section on their CS C-130 install, I'll try again.

I've already spent a couple hours trying to fix things, and I'm ready to move on to something else. I always hate wasting my time on a Saturday.

Thanks for you input.

That will not work because the CS C-130 is a true Fs9 (Doubt it would even work in Fs2002!) model. If it wasn't, you would have gotten a warning the first time you've selected the aircraft and the model would have had animation issues right from the start.

I still think you registry entries are messed up; the C-130 uses a complex method to animate the aircraft. The wheels are efects IIRC, and not part of the model. If the registry entries are incorrect, the aircraft will not show up properly.

Thanks, Ferry. That was my conclusion as well.

When I first installed the C-130 it was before I had a crash with Win XP. I restored Win XP and FS9, and as part of that had to reinstall several of the payware aircraft - except for the CS C-130. Best guess is that there are no registry entries with my current install.

Glad you are getting it figured out. I'm not familiar with this aircraft/product, so the info I offered was based solely on the original post.
Hope you get back in the air soon.

Thanks, Brent.

Yes, I'm back in the air - with wheels and props.

I did a complete reinstall and restore, and just finished a full flight. I'm a little rusty on my panel switches. But I did get airborne, made an ILS landing, and parked.

Now, I need to resume what I started to do this morning. The C-130 can hit the framerates with all those gauges, so I was going to see if there was anything that could be done to smooth things out on my setup. I noticed some texture files that could be changed to DXT3 format.

If anyone has any suggestions for how to improve this old bird, I'm all ears.

Thanks again for everyone coming to the rescue. The :guinness: is on me.
