Petaluma speedway,in Petaluma Ca,this is near the Napa valley wine country,not sure of the milage..but its just northwest of the Blackpoint cutoff,which is where Sears Point/Sonoma raceway is,i have family in napa,petaluma and sabsatopole ..not that that maters..but i do...lol..
this video is of a "run whatcha brung 360" race at petaluma,it was to be a "non-wing" event..and you will see the 92 car of Andy Forsberg,this young man ( just hit me,i have no clue how old he is,and ive known him since he was in diapers)is the son of the man who helped get me started in racing..Richard Forsberg,he drove a red westcoast modified at West Capitol speedway in west sacramento calif back in the late 60s and 70s,i started to work on his pit crew in the late 70s and met guys like Gary Gerould ,you may know him from ABC/ESPN INDYcars and CART series races including the indy 500 and NHRA races,and he also does the sacramento kings basketball games..his "helper" in those days was a guy named dennis Gage,who was my nieghbor behind me,and later when i began racing,,dennis was the head announcer at my track and his helper was ralph shaheen who is now on "Speed".small world sometimes...
back to the video..andys car is a non wing car..but being a run what ya brug race..richard built a gizmo on the front and put a huge billboard on the top...but it wasnt a wing..so they were allowed to run it..he qualified on the front row..but chose to start in the back...watch the entire video and listen to andy at the end in the interview...btw the start are some flips and crashes from early in the night..
