The Norton anti- bad-stuff app on my pc has suddenly decided this is a known dangerous website. WTF?? Anyone any ideas as to why that may be?

Low reputation because the site is new and it getting a lot of traffic. Report it as a false positive.

Last week I was working with another member who was having issue connecting. I found this site

which scans most of the known security software sites and logs the current status of any given URL or file. Last Friday Bitdefender and G-Data both had our site listed as Malware. I reported this to Bitdefender through their report false positive function. I see today we are off the list for both of these products. Now Fortinet is showing us as Malware.

Norton 360 is not on the list of sites reporting to Virustotal.com

Sorry, but Norton is a resource hog! IMHO.
You may be better off ditching Norton and getting something different.
Myself, I run Malwarebytes with no issues.

I may when my subscription runs out. I have Malwarebytes free version as well for 'second opinion'

Norton, many moons ago, started out as good, decent protection. It's always been somewhat of a resource hog, but they were good.

Nowadays, they're not so good anymore and have to rely on overly cautious mentions of viruses (false positives) and supposedly malicious websites. Why? Because their technology doesn't cut it anymore.

I use ESET Smart Security Premium. It's not that expensive, offers great security and you have hardly any false positives at all. It even offers a "sandbox" environment for your browsers for online banking and so forth.

Malwarebytes free version does not have active protection after 14 days. You have to pay for it to get active protection.

I used Eset for years they are good and about the same price as Malwarebytes.

Either is worth purchasing.

I run malwarebytes premium security well worth the price, yes, paid for it, to override the free use deadline

I use Windows Defender. Careful about what sites i go to. about 15 sites total. Never had a banking problem or a virus in 20 years. Stay off the porn sites men !

Im not a fan of Norton for reasons such as that. They had flagged a site I ran for the work I do and it was like pulling teeth from an alligator through its backside to get em to remove it.

Right in the screenshot above it says "The Norton rating is a result of our automated analysis system". In other words a bot/AI has made a decision based on it's settings and it is not going to change it's opinion until a human intervenes and re-directs it! If the complaint/reporting procedure is also automated we are stuck in a feedback loop with no human intervention. I suggest we go into 'malicious compliance' mode where every active SOH member should report the issue multiple times per day until the matter is resolved! Let's show them what 'Malicious Sources' looks like!

I haven't used Norton in decades! I used to have it on some of my early computers as it came pre-installed but when it turned into 'bloatware' it went out of the door! I would never use Kaspersky either, I don't need the damn Ruskies checking all my hard drives on a regular basis! I have used the free version of Avast for years now but that is becoming a bloated nanny too so it may be time to look for another option soon.
