Now I've done it...

:salute::salute::salute:

My default flight is set to use Real World Weather. On occassion I change to one of the Weather themes when I get tired of the cloudy stuff in the PNW.

This evening I noticed that whenever I selected one of the Weather themes, it didn't hold. FS9 kept defaulting to User Defined weather instead of the selected theme. :isadizzy:

Anybody know what's causing this, or how I can get rid of whatever User Defined Weather settings I might have set?

Thanks

You are going to hate this answer but it sounds like you might have a problem with the FS9.cfg file.

I would rename the file fs9.cfg.old

Then start FS and let it generate a new one.

When it generates a new do some testing load your old default as the default fligtht then shut it down and start it again.

Try and duplicate the problem and see if it still occurs. If the problem goes away delted the new fs9.cfg file and rename the old one back to fs9.cfg and see if it comes back.

If it does you know its the fs9.cfg file.

Do the rename trick again then generate a new one and customize as needed.

Thats my two cents.

The problem is because you have your default flight to use real world weather. When you start up, it automatically sets the weather to what it was the last time you shut down the sim. It doesn't remember you were using RWW, just that certain weather parameters are set that don't match one of the predefined weather themes, thus "User Defined". Reset your default flight to the c172 at seattle flight, and you should be fine.
