Now there is a distinct possibility .......

...... that I am losing the plot but I cannot seem to find two models that I used to have. One is the CFS2 HMS Hermes that Dave Garwood converted for use in FS2004, the other is the Alphasim De Havilland Sea Venom. I appreciate the second item has disappeared into the ether alongside a number of other models (the TSR.2, the Flankers that were being discussed recently - both of which I have - and USS Belleau Wood, which I don't) for a variety of rights reasons, but surely Mr Garwood's work doesn't fall into that category.

I've always found it odd that the Venom was so poorly served in this sim. In FSX we have the full spread so beautifully rendered by Rob "Carrich" Richardson, in FS9 we had the Sea Venom and have Roger Hardy's FS2000 Venom which CAN be flown but is inevitably somewhat crude. Hey ho.

The only Venom I have is the AlphaSims FS2002 model. I've only used it to make static scenery models. I've never flown it, but being a jet, it has no prop to lose in FS9 so it should work.

You can grab a copy from my A-Drive:

I thought I remembered a Hermes but I don't have one, and if I'd ever seen it I would have grabbed it, so maybe I don't really remember one.

Thanks Mick, much appreciated. I'll try and get hold of Dave G at Cbfsim & see if he can solve the Hermes mystery.

Alphasim HMS Hermes

.....I cannot seem to find two models that I used to have. One is the CFS2 HMS Hermes that Dave Garwood converted for use in FS2004...
Most of the Alphasim files (including the CFS2 HMS Hermes) are still available from Virtavia:
http://www.virtavia.com/Freeware/index.php
The FS9 version of HMS Hermes can be downloaded from:
http://daveb.cbfsim.org/public/hermesfs9.zip
There is an old forum discussion about it here:
