Nvidia GTX 260/216 Deal

Here's a pretty good deal on this part:

http://www.techbargains.com/news_displayItem.cfm/154225

Considerations:

-It'll require a good power supply with two, six-pin PCI-E connectors.

-It requires a PCI-E slot (rather than AGP) and may be incompatible with some older systems.

-For the last two years, or so, these higher-end Nvidia cards have performed better when paired with Intel CPU and compatible motherboards.

-If you wait a while, the price/performance ratio will always improve.

Compare with 8800GTX card ?

How do these 260 series cards compare with the 8800GTX cards?

I built my rig last spring, and its working fine (touch wood) so am a bit out of touch with newer developments.

I'd stick with 8800GTX for a bit.

The GTX260 is really a batter replacement for mid-range or somewhat older, high-end parts.
