NVidia PhysX Software. . .Do I need it?

I'm going to answer this one myself as right now I am at a point of throwing the PC out in the parking lot. NO, I don't need it!!

Correct, P3Dv4 does not support Nvidia Physx so unless you play games which are able to use Physx, you do not want it. This is a general rule for FSX/P3D users when updating NVidia GeForce drivers:

Install the new NVidia driver only, DO NOT install 3D Vision driver/controller, Nvidia update, GeForce Experience and PhysX.

I only install the driver, yet I always end up disabling five Nvidia tasks (telemetry and profile updater) in Task Scheduler. Even worse if you install GeForce Experience.

All this is indeed true but I have recently allowed Experience to be installed only because of the Shadowplay utility. It makes making videos very easy without drop in FPS. I have not set it to start in the background though, I start it only when I need to record video. If you don't make FS videos leave it out.

Ditto, very handy software indeed ;-)

Does anyone know if Shadowplay works okay in 4K? I've been using Fraps and will record in 4K, but it's quite a load on my system.

It's working really well in 4K, but it takes a lot of resources. Big card and big storage, but it makes great video.
