O/T Beachy Head

I visited Beachy Head in East Sussex today and found this memorial to RAF bomber command. Not great photo and not sure if it comes out clear on here but I found the last sentence very poignant.

I think it would be good in CFS3 to model this area, as Johnno did with Dover. Will make a start when I get back from our hols.

Hi Clive,

I was there 3 years ago, and the monument made me think long and hard about the guys who where flying overhead 70 odd years ago, perhaps looking back on old Blighty for the last time.

I'd love to see the coast with its distinctive point and light house modeled in to CFS3.

some more shots of the same monument, and the pub just over the road.

regards Rob.

Nice pics Rob, looks like you had good weather as well.
I did manage a pint in the pub too :0).

I hadn't realised just what an important landmark this was - for both sides.
Here's that famous photo of KG76 Dorniers. This was the Kenley raid I think.

Ps. Just realised what today is, Battle of Britain day. Makes this thread quite apt methinks.

Wow, imagine what it wuz like to see those baby-killers low flying along in broad bl**dy daylight...
Quick!, fire up my Hurricane... (is it re-armed and refueled yet?) :mixed-smiley-027:

Getting there slowly.....
