O/T Need help with finding info on Col C.E. "Hoppy" Hopkins

We were at the Chino airshow this year and ran into this at the Planes of Fame yard in the back. Any information would be appreciated. I have no idea what kind of plane this is, here are a couple of pictures we took of it. Thanks for the help
