OFF 3 . . . Can't create a pilot !

Damnation . . .
I've just received my dvd today . . . I install with the choice : files from a dvd, a brand new CFS 3.1 dvd (ubisoft exclusive).
When I try to create a pilot (the first thing to do), when it's time to choose a squadron, I have a popup : Homefield file error ! : try re-installing OFF !
I made a new install of OFF3 . . . same problem !
I made an install of CFS 3.1 on my hard disk, flew some minutes, everything ok . . . re-install OFF 3 . . . same problem !
Something to do with the french langage install ? ? ?
And with no pilot . . . no fly . . .:help:
If someone can help me ? Thanks in advance !

First thing.. if you have special characters in your pilot name it may cause issues, try a simple character name first
i.e avoid Ö etc for the moment to try... if not then:

We did work on this but maybe there are still some problems with some languages can you try this:


1. Control Panel---Regional & Language Option
Click Regional Tab, then select "English (US)"
This is a precautionary measure to align comma and period settings to US English standards.

2. Control Panel---Regional & Language Option
Click Advanced Tab, then select "English (US)" enabling "Non-Unicode program" such as OFF to be run in English.

Try that please?

Also please try:

Regional and Language options in Control Panel and set up for English (United States, or UK)
In regional options.

PS I will keep an eye on this and see if I can optimise for other languages in the future - I did work on this but clearly not enough.
 
Always have the regional options in UK or US (English) when running OFF. I used to have similar problems with P2.
 
Thank you for your replies . . . but the problem is still there.
If I understand well, it's perhaps a conflict between the english and french languages.
But . . . I've never type in the game the name of a pilot . . . have I missed something ?
When I launch OFF3, after the introductory movie, the first screen let me only create a pilot.
I click on the button and I have a new screen with the choice of a nation, fighter or bomber, and . . . squadron !
And no place to type in a name . . . so I don't understand where is the possible problem with language . . .
I've enjoyed last year OFF2 like a charm . . . without any problem and any change in languages . . .
I hope I've explained my problem in the right way . . . sorry for my english . . . learned at school . . . a long long time ago ! !

Yes . . . but then I have another problem when launching OFF3 . . . runtime error:13 type mismatch . . .

For future ref anyone reading this with similar issue
Jipea is up and running a simple un-install via Add/Remove programs and reinstall did the trick!
