OFF Phase3 Current Situation Update

So far since P1 we have always kept a very open channel to our users - support e-mail PM etc and P3 is no different.

So far we are pleased with the reception feedback on P3 on the whole most users seem to be up and running and pleased with P3.

I would just like to give you an update of what issues have been picked up and the status with the V1.2 Patch.

1) Main Software issues - please see the sticky post above.

2) DVD issues and delivery issues - yes we have had some bad DVDs shipped - still in single digits currently - and we now have a support system that can enable broadband users to get up and running without having to wait for the replacement DVD.

Most players in more centralised regions have received their DVDs in reasonable time - further afield the delivery is slower - but please be patient these delays are purely due to the number of postal systems being used as the DVD has to travel further. I have first hand experience of this in SA.

If you suspect that your DVD is missing or stolen - yes it does happen - please wait a bit longer and then we will replace it.

3) V1.2 testing is progressing well and I will keep issues updated in the above sticky posts.

4) Typos and miscellaneous historical issues - OFF has a HUGE database and covers a large number of years and squads and war events - 1000s of targets, dromes, aces, pilots over the 5 year war period.
There are and will be issues found in this database and we are constantly updating and correcting - I think that its not hard to imagine that testing this fully is very hard to do - but none of these materialistically affect the immersion and playability.

5) If you are very unhappy with OFF please drop us an e-mail to support@overflandersfields.com and we will assist you in anyway we can!

6) Yes we are still looking into OFF download options as I posted in early Jan with the user survey/Poll - should still be here on SOH somehere :wiggle:

As always, thanks for keeping us all so well informed!

4) Typos and miscellaneous historical issues

These are are pretty rare but I have spotted a couple of minor typo/data glitches. It's inevitable with this much data.

(e.g. French Esc 15 shows Nieuport 11 as an unavailable plane on campaign squad selection page for 19/3/1916 and 8/5/1916)

Winder...Do you want people to make notes and report these in any way, or is it just too much feedback right now?

Is it an impolite question to ask how they are selling?....just wondering

Guys can I ask you do not post issues in here - this post by WM was purely as is an update.

Re typos or other small errors. Keep them noted somewhere and if we ask at a later date it will be in 1 place when we are ready to do anything about it.

Thanks
Pol

BTW Mike yes those 1/72 models WM got are fantastic.

See, this is why I know I got my money's worth. Where else do you see this kind of communication from developers? In my experience NOWHERE!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

THANKS, OBD FOR A GREAT SIM ! ! !

Progress Update:

1) V1.2 Testing is proceeding well...

2) MP connection issue has been replicated and a fix is in the works.

WM

Thanks Winder for the update. Looking forward to the MP fix.
Cheers

I agree with Zommoz and 77scout, you just don't find this kind of support or communication anywhere in any sim or game EVER. Considering the support/comms/update you get, I think the price was very reasonable. I would've even paid a bit more.

Thanks pol, WM, and team

WM- Thanks for the updates..as for me, once I rectified my issues (my side not yours)..OFF is flying spectacularly.
Can't tell you the enjoyable sim experiences I've had so far.

FWIW, there are several new and "corporately" developed games, that have 10 squared the amount of issues that OFF may have (and OFF "hasn't any" in comparison) , IMHO.

Regards,
Royce

I'm pleased they never put P3 as a free download... Sorts out who really wants this type of Sim..
Lets hope the geniuses behind this game get recognition for their hard work...
maybe next will be a big software develepor gets u guys on board and helps u out a bit.:ernae:

No Bungo at the moment we are working on V1.2 AI navigation etc as per Winders sticky post, then 1.3 for MP issues.

We can look at FM "issues" after that, but it is a very early wing warping craft as I explained in the other thread so it will have bad points (that's why we love WW1). It's not "a bug" but I will look at it.

To recover use the rudder full to swing the nose DOWN the same direction you are sliding, then pull up works most of the time for me and others.
