• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Off topic - Message edition on the forum

Daube

SOH-CM-2025
Sorry for the off topic, but I have a small problem:
When I want to write an answer to a topic, or create a new topic, I do not see the various buttons on top of the message edition area. You know, the buttons for inserting a quote, choose bold or italic text, formating text in general etc...

Using Internet Explorer 9 on Windows Vista. What's going on ? I cannot remember when this issue started to appear, but it seems to me that everything was fine until not so long ago...

updateing/tweaking summing??

I cant see em either, now doubt it'll be back to normanl in a few hours/days/weeks :)

Well we can rule out Windows updates and cookies because I am logged on now from my Linux machine that I have never logged on to SOH before. I see the same thing.

I would think it was a forum software update.

Don't worry if it was there will be another one following.

Glad to see I'm not the only one having the problem, which means my computer is alright. Thanks for the feedback gentlemen. :)
Yesterday night I tried to log on to the forum from my home computer, but the forum was in maintenance mode, so I could not check.
This morning, as I write this message, the buttons are still invisible.
