Have paid for the OFF3 on 17,January.
Asked today , 3 February, for a tracking number. On the USPS site they just notified that they were waiting for the CD to be sent through them.
Called again Avangate. Answer was that there was a problem with my address which seems (as they said ) uncorrect and they "couldn't ship the backup CD" .Backup CD?? The address was perfect !I repeated my address.
Where the *°@# is my CD?? I paid over 70 USD for it and have nothing after more than 2 weeks! Not even a decent asnwer from the shipping support.
IS there any chance to download it like the good old days??

Alberto

How is it that YOU paid 70 USD for something the everyone paid 59 USD for

It's called a back-up CD, because that's normally the way they do business

Avangate downloads software to you, and then offers a Back-up CD

But at 15 GB it can't be downloaded

Soo don't get your knickers in a twist

Well, including taxes and shipping i also paid slightly over 70,- USD and the OFF DVD contains 3,42 GB of data so it can be downloaded.

Alberto, not sure where in the world you are, the 17th was a weekend so I doubt it was dispatched until Monday Tuesday the next week, at a guess,
So I'd say yours would likely arrive in a day or two more. If not contact Avangate and ask them to check into it and send a new one.

but I'll repeat this:

Guys we know you are anxious to get the DVD - but please keep calm no one is trying to "trick" you. I don't know of any non-deliveries to be honest so the vast majority of people have received them fine.

It is also annoying for us that not everyone gets it immediately, but most people they get it within the stated time on the website.

"DELIVERY TIME?
Estimated arrival time is between 4 to 7 business days however please allow up to 10 business days"

BTW this does not including the day you order.

Local worldwide PO issues DO cause delay and sometimes yes customs too (as WM says it's SIX WEEKS for him no matter what any one says ).

Once a few people gather waiting it sounds bad but most people have received it fine within the specified time.

I can take around 10 working days (not including the day you order) or so to reach some parts. The USPS tracking does not say anything useful until it arrives on your country, not much we can do about that unfortunately.

It must something to do with the massive taxation in Socialist Europe, I was under the impression that the chap in OZ paid 59 USD, GB was also 59, California USA also paid 59, even if only had to travel to the next town

Phase 2 began as a D/L . . it was a nightmare . . finally after I got a D/L Manager, it smoothed out, and that was much smaller :kilroy:

Gimpy, GB works out to about $70 too, which was near to £49 sterling when I ordered it.... it's the taxes that bump the price up

Yes, I ended up paying £49. Luckily the package came without me having to pay import tax.

Well I ordered BHaH on Jan. 15 and according to Avangate it was shipped Jan. 16, that was 12 BD ago and it still hasn't arrived yet. I figure it should have been here by now as I live extremely close to the U.S. border. If I turn around in my chair I can see Detroit, Michigan. Oh I paid $76.46 Cdn for it and may be liable for another $5 brokerage fee depending on the mood of Canada Post. No need to panic, if it's not here by Friday I'll Email Avangate and I am sure they will make good on it. I've waited one and a half years, what's a couple of more days. Besides I still have Phase 2.

Tony

Us brits were charged 15% VAT on the cost of both the disc and postage. I'm not at all sure Avangate will be passing that 15% tax onto the UK govt somehow.

I live in Italy, not in Congo. The reason that makes me angry is that Avangate has no idea where the CD is (and probably never shipped it yet) and that in the final email in short words they said I was "guilty" of giving them a wrong address !
Not a nice way to deal with customers.

I "learned painful" that in some cases there is a 5 day gap between ordering/ payment and shipping using paypal payment it could also prolong that process, so even if you ordered at the January the 17th it could be that they shipped not before the 23rd.
Have you asked Avangate about a specific date when they shipped the DVD? Normally they can answer that.

Indeed but Europe is taking a while to get there, same for me in the UK when I ordered some, 1 came quickly, 2 took two weeks.

Alberto maybe it's a translation thing, but I can certainly check. Do you have the actual correspondence they sent you? If so please send it to
support@
overflandersfields.com
and we'll discuss it with Avangate.

While you're at it could you please ask them where they get off charging UK VAT (or "eurozone tax" as they called it)? They're not registered or required to charge that, it was a blatant gouge as far as I can see, it's going straight in their pockets.

Is Avangate "cheating" on the international VAT charge??

I finally received the DVD that Avangate said it was being returned to them because of not correct postal address (!!!). Strange ,uh?
Anyway, lookin at the parcel, they claimed the DVD value worth 5$ and that is was referred to a "commercial sample". Having paid the 20% VAT over the DVD cost AND the shipping all together, it looked to me weird to declare a small value to bypass customs when the VAT for it has already been paid.
The answer is quite clear. Do they let non-US customer pay the VAT keeping it in their pockets? The answer is probably retoric..
I'd better give Povlovsky and OBD staff this 20% more than to Avangate which actually got this amount rather than giving it to our respective country tax department.. :monkies:
