OFF3 Fatal Error?

I

My first post, sorry it's a problem.

OFF3 arrived yesterday, and I also took delivery of a new, relatively high-end PC, an XP machine, purchased mostly to run OFF3.

Today I installed CFS3 and patched it up to 3.1a (though it only shows at 3.1 in "about"). My CFS3 is the 2-CD version of the game.

Then I installed the OFF3 DVD and applied the OFF3 patch to bring it to V1.1.

I set up CFSConfig as recommended in the OFF3 FAQ, started the game, enlisted a couple of pilots and tried a Quick Combat.

The game bombed with the following error message:

Patch DLL Error: Patch ID 'Load DLL.jmpToPatch': data to be patched does not match

The message said if the problem persisted, which it did 4 times in a row,
to contact you folks (I hope this is the right place to ask for help).

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Ahhh! but you missed a step, after you've patched to 3.1

You Must start up CFS3, to end misunderstandings, I say Fly the P47 once

Then, and only then. . . . Install Phase 3 :ernae:

Thanks for the reply. I did start CFS3 before installing OFF3, but I didn't actually fly, just started the game up to the intrpo screen.

Do I now need to un-install both OFF3 and CFS3 and re-do?

Thanks again...

Since there is no need to install CSF3 before installing OFF3 (Off3 will request the Cf3 discs on the fly), I doubt this is a requirement anymore.

Definately applied to Phase 2.

I don't have Phase 3 yet (waiting patiently) so I am only supposing.

I thought it was a patch of CFS3, you make it a stand alone.

You & I don't need to install CFS3 on our HD's it's already there

This is an install from scratch . . . Big Difference :ernae:

Don't think so. From the new FAQ

Q. Do I need to actually install CFS3 first?
A. During install process the OFF BHaH installer will ask you to provide CFS3 so it can copy the CFS3 files it needs.

You can provide the files required from either :

1) An installed CFS3
- OR-
2) Your original CFS3 disks

You can choose.
NOTE: However if your CFS3 CD/DVD is older, it may be CFS3 v3.0 not v3.1 - in this case you must use option 1) above AND you will need to patch that CFS3 install to CFS3 v3.1.

Okay, I un-installed both OFF3 & CFS3, and started over.

This time I did the following:

1) Installed CFS3, then patched it first to 3.1, then to 3.1a
2) Started CFS3 up, flew a mission in a P47
3) Installed OFF3, then patched it to V1.1
4) With the CFS3 disk in the drive, I started up OFF3, enlisted 2 pilots in the LafEsc, then tried a Quick Combat with 1 of the above pilots, N11 versus Fokker E-III, clicked "go to field"

Same error occured, same message. Any further advice would be appreciated.

first Iam not qualified too help but
are you running xp 32 or 64

Sounds like a firewall or AV blocking OFF.dll.

Can you check the firewall or AV logs for any blocking?
As a test try disabling them (unplug the internet !) and see?

What firewall and AV is it?

there are hidden files and folders needing deleteing

and also files in my documents.
go to my computor/c/documents and settings/user name/application data/microsoft/ and you will find an off folder.delete it and the one in my documents befor your reinstall.
