All this explains so much.

Now I know why the bombsights in fixed windows, example...B-24 Hail Columbia have never worked for me.
It's the same problem. And the .bmps are 1024 x 768 too.

Yup.

You need to make a copy of bombsight.bmp and bombsight_tw.bmp and re-name them bombsight_640.bmp and bombsight_tw_640.bmp. The resize both to 640x480. Once done update the panel.cfg

Works like a champ. Hard to believe it was simple. Many, many thanks A. Now, I'll start to restore the rear views in AC that I have deleted.

The new resized .bmp for the bombsight isn't as sharp an image but it is perfectly respectable and legible.
