I recently acquired this board game training aid from a friend. It's from the early 1960s and 4 different levels of playing...student-ATP (or what is was called then). Com p let with graph ruled paper to perform computations and little airplane figures. The board is a chart of socal area complete with large scale hand drawn weather chart. Also a answer book. It's basically like a Gleams study and flight sim in one for back in the day. Very neat. in mint condition. No its not for sale but thought I'd share!

I bet this thing had no one complaining why there isn't aircraft xyz as an add-on for it. And why it ran so slowly.

Also, it's more advanced than FSX because random failures and pilot grading is included by default. We've really taken a few steps backward since then.

I'll take a few more pictures...it's really quite cool. It makes me want to stop everything and finish up my CFI and get back into real flying after a few years hiatus! I've been looking at Barnstormers.com today.....not good...not good at all!

Neat find, Rick! Looking forward to more pics!
Regarding Barnstormers... it has gotten quiet threre. I loved to browse the Warbird section.

Cheers,
Mark

My friend you are a one-man RIOT! LOL

Interesting discovery. Aside from the terminology and airspace definitions, I imagine this game would still be a good training aide even today. No magenta lines to use as cheats!

Also - I can't be the only one wondering what type is pictured on the box top. Looks to be a piston twin, but beyond that I'm at a loss.
