The Ryan 'NYP' flew for the first time, operating from the Dutch Flats (for these screenshots, I used the dry lake bed of Edwards AFB for the background). Less than a month later, it was on its way to Paris. The model shown is the FSX conversion of the FS9 model, by Craig Richardson (Classic Wings).

Nice John ... might have to get this conversion myself ... Don't think I have ever seen the Spirit in FSX before ... Mike :salute:

Thanks Mike. You'll need to install the 'Spirit' from the FS9 Disc 1 first, into FSX, and then add in the FSX files by Craig (which will make it an FSX native aircraft, with no prop issue). At the Classic Wings site, you can also find similar conversions for the FS9 Comet, Trimotor, Vickers Vimy, and Lockheed Vega, and there is also the same type of conversion for the Jenny, available in the FSX aircraft section in the SOH library.

I took it for a flight around Pioneer field today as well (the small grass strip on the grounds of Oshkosh/Wittman Field where the EAA flying replica is based). Not a problem at all, as long as you manage the airspeed properly on landing (it lands very slow (around 60 mph), flying it with normal fuel load (just 60-gallons, as typically is used for a flight with the EAA replica) - if you land it much faster, the tail skid won't be in the ground helping you to slow down.

Seems I need to get around to adding all of the Classic Wings conversions ... was just on their website the other day and noticed these other projects that you speak of ... Mike :wiggle:
