One for re-paint...

UAL is going to paint a retro "Friendship" scheme on an A320 in celebration of our 85th anniversary. Sure would make a nice re-paint in FSX - if there are any takers. I'd try my hand at it, but would surely mess it up.

Here's the announcement;
We Have a Winner!

December 1 was the last day legacy United co-workers could cast their vote for their favorite retro livery, and we have a winner!

UA co-workers cast a total of 11,605 votes between November 16 and December 1, with “Option 4” taking first place. It garnered about 30% of the votes. This style debuted in 1971, and was the only livery to feature stars alongside the United name. We’ve included a vintage photo of the livery below.

We will paint one of our Airbus 320s with this design to celebrate United’s 85th anniversary in 2011. We selected an A320 since these planes are among the most numerous in the UA fleet and fly to virtually every North American airport served by UA, giving more co-workers and customers a chance to see the retro jet as it is routed around the network.

Edited out airliners.net photo. Not sure sim-outhouse wants them to be used in posts??? You can do a search and find plenty pics of the old scheme.
