Andrew Hall made a great AI An 225 Mriya "gai_an225.zip" at flightsim.com.
What to do with it?
Well, it is a little large, so how about big European airports?

Some of the clearances are a little tight, but no worse than an A380.
Each airport had to have a little AFCAD tweak to clear space around the parking spot, though.

It's fun to track the behemoth across Europe, but kind of shocking when you're busy with something else, and it shows up!

Some more for the scrapbook:

In the first attached photo, I see the nose open. Is that programmed into the model when it's cold/dark, or were you flying it?

Yes it kneels, opens the nose, and drops the ramp!
It also makes a very satisfactory smoke trail...

Now that's my kinda stuff, Wing_z!! I am an AI obsessed flightsimmer. And all the Global AI stuff is great!! Shame about the F-111, though...:pop4:

Yup, me too!
Can't survive without all that moving scenery in the background...
What happened to the F-111??

...Apparently all develpoment work was lost in a hard drive failure....darn shame, too, as I was really looking forward to some Aussie 'varks in my sim skies....not to mention the retro stuff that could be done...:pop4:

He's doing great. I still get emails from him and every once in a while I talk to him by phone. He's actually switched to building wooden ships, so now instead of filling hard drives, he's filling his house!

Glad to hear that Mike is doing well.
We all owe him so much! :medals:

So it goes.
My wife is glad that I switched from collecting model locomotives to virtual aircraft... :bump:

Mike Stone did some rather nice flyable F-111's that can be had from Garry Smith's place. I understand that Mike's planes make good AI.

There's C and F models available.

....yes, you are correct, Tom. No arguing that they are nice models...however, they are not true AI as Andrew's was intended to be, so even when chopped, cut, and tweaked, Mike's is still only 1LOD, and frames do suffer. It is a shame Andrew lost the work he put into his, as it was a stunning multi-lod model with various animations and effects. Maybe Andrew will try it again...:applause:

It doesn't have to be a big airport.

An225 at EGNX (East Midlands). And An-124 in background as well in October 2006.

Wow they must make a lot of Heavy Stuff to haul from the Midlands!
Truth be told, I made flightplans to go with the airports I have installed ;)

I love bumping into this model every so often
