One of Ito San's last creations

Hi all,

Over the last few months, I've been working on a project with the late Mike Mire (Pointy31) that was originated from Ito San....The Avtek 400A with the swept wings config. Ito had sent the files over to Mike and Mike was looking for someone to finish it and I volunteered. This is what it looks like.

All I did was throw on the paint and make a basic paintkit with the textures provided in the package.

Now does anyone know if Ito does still answer emails? I would like to release this package to the public on behalf of Ito and in memory of Mike. What do you guys think?

BTW...I don't have the source files for this model and it doesn't have a VC for those wondering.
 
I recently read a post here from someone who said they'd been trying to contact Ito-san and got no reply.

It's possible that his eyesight has deteriorated to the point that he no longer uses a computer.

I don't think he would've passed on the project to Mike unless he wanted it to be released when it was completed.
 
Not that it matters, but I agree with Mick and think it would be a great tribute to both Ito and Mike.
Thank You for finishing a project that "Ito the Great" Can no longer finish, and though I didnt know Pointy31- I think this would be a great way to Honor him.

What happened to Ito?
 
Unfortunately folks as Mick says, Ito-san's eyesight has deteriorated to the stage where he canot use a computer screen (for design purposes), and may lose the eyesight in one eye (fingers crossed he doesn't!).

It's one of those 'just isn't fair' things for someone so talented and generous.

I would think he would be pleased for one of his last models to finally get flown. If you haven't got his last/latest email PM me I emailed him in August and it worked then.

I heard quite awhile ago that Macular Degeneration was taking the eyesight of one of the great flightsim masters. As Shessi said Lets all "Keep our fingers Crossed" that it doesnt. I'd like to think that they can slow its progression and let him enjoy "Flying" his works of art.
 
Its not up to me but I am hoping to get my hands on this bird.I grew up in Camarillo and spent a huge part of me years at CMA and around the real bird,even been inside of it.In my opinion as long as you give the original authors/creators credit I don't see why not releasing it.But then again I just want the Avtek with a passion!:icon_lol:
