Some of you may remember, that I played BHaH with my neighbours disc so far. But now, I've got my own here!
(For the stats: order was confirmed by AVANGATE on Feb. 8th. Arrived today, Feb. 24.)

Since I got some money coming in (at last late customers paid their bills!), I have also ordered and received a HOTAS Cougar Flightstick, Saitek pedals, and TrackIR.
Now comes the tech bit, to set it all up. It's like Christmas and birthday together!
NOW, it feels REALLY GREAT!!!
 
You will love Trackir - best sim addon you can buy bar none.... IMO.

Great, I have TrackIR and Cougar too and Simped Pedals (14 years old from 1995). TrackIR was the greatest addition of the last years in my opinion. You need to install the Cougar carefully. Read the tips at Cougar World to get it working especially the FAQ. There is also a German user manual you can download.

I am working on a Cougar profile for OFF currently. I will announce it on my site when I have a basic profile working. The 'philosophy' is worked out but I am still fiddling around with the details.
 
Olham, just ask, I do have the same setup at my "woodbox". I will install my cougar this week. Many knobs to play with!!! Huhu!:woot:
 
I had one of the first Cougars, but it came to the point where I either spent a lot of money upgrading it with special mods, allowing my right bicep and wrist to develop Arnie Schwazenegger proportions or sell it. I sold it. :icon_lol:

I don't know if they ever fixed it's various issues, but I believe there are still some very fine upgrades available for it. :)
 
I know a couple of guys who have them, and they all swear by them!....But, TrackIR is defo THE icing on the cake!.....I just cannot fly without it anymore!

As much as it sounds like you fly, in a month or two your gonna regret that cougar hotas purchase. I bought one and it's a complete POS. But don't worry for the price of another compete set you can buy the good components and fix all the things that are wrong with it. If you still have the opportunity, take it back get your money and buy a good CH products set.

It's Olham that just bought one. I sold mine a few years ago. Way too much hard work to move it around and the internals, as you say, were a POS.

I use, the Cougar also, stock, no mods. I love him, due to two reasons:
1. I fly Falcon 4.0 AF, at least i try:173go1:
2. It is absolutly precise. I use it for 2 years now, absolutly no wear out.

I still have a ch-hotas back from the year 2000 with the gameport plugs, unfortunatly not usb, so if anyone is interested, PM me.

I'd be suprised if the internals now aren't a lot better than the originals. :)

About 25 years ago I had one of the early cougars, too. And like you, I spend a lot of money on the upgrades and mods. But then I got a little older and she lost interest and then she went looking for another 20 year old. Oops. Sorry, wrong kind of cougar.:faint:
