Oooh it went and turned Vichy on me.

SteveB

Very odd jobs man and MiGaholic
Wanted something colourfull, not exactlly historicaly accurate, but I beleive the French Airforce did recieve a few early model Harvards in 39 40, so thought I would do a 1941 paint just for fun.

Interesting paint and very nicely done Steve! It's Alphas yes? If it is it should work on the FsX version too.

Yes mate it's the Alphasim model. And it will also come in 1940 scheme without the Vichy markings.

Hopefully by the next weekend, I still have a few bits and pieces to play with.

It's getting there slowly, and I got distracted by a yellow thing this evening.

:kilroy: Forget about that yellow canary and get back to the original salad, please...

Your "vichysoise" will get damp if you don't get it done soon ...:icon_eek:

Those yellow birds are plentyfull whereas that salad dressing is unique... :icon_lol:

I have just uploaded the Vichy paint scheme, it will no doubt show up later once admins done it's thing.

Steve

It's up and ready now! I'll be laying mine on to the FsX version after tea.

Cheers Steve; looks great!

Thanks Steve. It is in the hangar and had it out for a spin already.

Very nice indeed !

Just a thought... :kilroy:

You seem to have changed the cowling paint from the original pic that you posted, meaning that the Vichy stripes no longer go all the way to the front of the cowling...

Is there a particular reason ?

Any chance of getting one from the period that the historians called "la drôle de guerre" ?

There was texture pull towards the front of the nose, which I wasn't happy with. And pre Vichy 1940 scheme is almost done.

French Cammo 1940, has just been uploaded. It will no doubt show up later once admins done it's thing.

I absolutely love it, Steve! Great idea and excellent results. The paint scratches and faded areas definitely helped pull the look together at the end.

If anything, you can pretend, like a lot of T-6 pilots do, that you are flying a real fighter plane, like the Hawk 75, with performance that is not all too different. ;)
