Orbx Errors

Bringing this back over to this Forum rather than FSX. I had mentioned that I had to do a complete reinstall of both FTX Global and FTX Vector. I've noticed one thing though when I ran FTX Central and that is that "North America" is no longer one of the option icons (see pics below for reference), all I have is FTXGlobal. Also, when I run the Vector Configuration tool I get error messages which ultimately keep it from running. Any ideas?

Addendum: I've added a quick screenshot and to me, that doesn't look like Global or Vector is active at all, despite what FTX Central says.

I have seen this a few times on the Orbx forums. They
usually know what causes it.I would bring it up over there.

Anthin.

Thanks Anthin, but I'll pass. Most likely what I'll get over there is a reprimand for not waiting until the proper installers are released.

Stupid question time.

You say you reinstalled Global and Vector, do you have any NA regions installed?

SQ #2.

The error message points to a specific file, is that file in the given path?

Hope this helps.

All that is installed is the base P3D_V2.5, Plus Global and Vector

No.

A word about Vector. I only had V120. It advised that V115 should be installed first, which I had to get from the FTX downloads area. . .however that version advises that V110 should be installed first as these are all incremental updates, lol. . .I don't have 110, nor can I find it anywhere. I assumed that V120 was a standalone that incorporated all previous updates. That may be the problem here. If so then I need to find where I can download the base version of Vector and then run the updates in order.

Also, with FTX Central, North America simply indicates the default textures for the sim. It always showed up in FTX Central the first time I ran it prior to this. The fact that it doesn't tells me that FTX Central doesn't even recognize the default textures for the sim which is troubling.

Uninstalled everything (not P3D) and started over. I still do not have a "North America" icon in FTX Central, only FTX Global. I still get one error message when running the Vector Config tool, but apparently that's being worked on (since November of last year) and clicking "continue" gets you past it. From what I can tell, after loading my latest scenery for Skyhaven in New Hampshire, Global is active so I'm moving on. Thanks for all the suggestions.

There is a workaround for this Falcon. I've posted it in the thread started by Jens-Ole about P3D v2.5 being the way forward in the FSX board.

Simply put, copy over the terrain.cfg file from C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 to the root of P3D and let the FTX Central run.

After that, copy it over again to C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2 et voilà!

This will get us by until ORBX release a patch. Also, when booting P3D, you'll get a warning about the objectflow.dll. Simply indicate not to run it.

Cheers,

Johan

Yes, I read that and did as you suggested and the errors I mentioned above remain. Also as I said above, I'm curious why North America doesn't show up in the FTX Central screen, probably due to not having the correct installer. Otherwise FTX Global appears to be loading as it should although I'm not certain FTX Vector is. I'll be gone for the day so I won't mess with this again until this evening some time.

Ed, just saying... Have you actually installed any North America regions (e.g. PNW, CRM etc) in 2.5? Only if you install a region will the "North America" option exist in FTX Central, with Global+Vector you just get Global.
