OrbX PNW for P3D v3: Bowerman is not included ?

SOH-CM-2024
Hi all,

Recently, I have downloaded and installed the newest version of my PNW package, which has been updated with a triple installer that recognizes P3Dv3.
The installation went smoothly and PNW is successfully displayed in my P3D after switching the FTX Central to Norh America :)

However, I flew to Bowerman KHQM and found only a default airport over there, instead of the fancy version that used to be included with the previous versions of PNW.
Should I download it as a separate package ? Or is there something wrong with my PNW install ?

I'll reply to myself: I shoud have checked the FTX website.
Bowerman is not included by default in PNW, contrary to what I thought.
In the past, I had to download it separately. And in fact, I found the archive on my disk and now it's installed in my P3D v3.
For those who are interested (or those who, like me, forgot about it), Bowerman can be downloaded from the "FREEWARE" section of the FTX website.

Its nice to see people still use my ol rendition of Bowerman!
Do you mean you are the author of that scenery ?
If this is the case, I would like to thank you so much. :ernaehrung004:
This little airport is absolutely stunning and one of my favorite places for test flights for any airplane (excepted fast jets that need longer runways).

I've tried installing Orbx airports but some of the tree's and details close to the airport don't show, is there a way around this? Also as soon as you touch the Orbx control panel the airports disappear because they get forced down the scenery library list, which is a bit of a pain. Has anyone had any success? I do miss landing at Walter Sutton's.

Patience is your friend.

Orbx are converting their black magic installers to work in 3, the regions are nearly done, so airports next.. I expect their demos will be high on the list.

Fact is, 'migration tools' will not work with overly complex installation sites and routines, rather hit and miss...

Patience, They will get to it soon I'm sure.

I don't understand the issue about the dissapearing airports that you mention.
I have installed Bowerman, Concrete and Darrington in my P3Dv3. None of these airports are updated to v3 yet. Nevertheless, the FTX Central 2 (which is updated for P3D v3), works without problems, and I didn't see any problems with these airports. They got all recognized by FTX Central once I moved them into the correct folders (because the installers were still looking for P3Dv2, so the files went to the wrong folder...).

Maybe that's the cause of my problem then, I never put the folders into P3Dv3, I've got them in a copy of FSX, I just accessed through the Scenery Library.

From my side, FSX was not installed anymore, and OrbX stuff was uninstalled as well. I wanted to restart from scratch.
But to do that, I had to wait until the P3Dv3 version of PNW got available.
This ensured a "stable" basis for my OrbX stuff, for FTX Central, registry entries etc... As you suspected, this is probably the source of your problems.

I could install Concrete, Darrington and Bowerman, which are not P3Dv3-ready, on top of my P3Dv3-certified PNW. I don't know how the system would have reacted if I tried simply referencing the OrbX stuff from another sim on my computer...
I know however than FTXCentral swaps some critical files (autogen and landclass definitions for example) directly inside the sim folder. So if FTXCentral is not P3Dv3-aware, this is going to be a problem...
