230 people are feared to be dead after an Air France A330 disappeared partway through a flight from Rio to Paris.
The aircraft made its last radio contact at 0133 GMT (2233 Brazilian time) when it was 565km (360m) off Brazil's north-eastern coast.
The current theory is that it was possibly brought down by lightning.
