OT: BF2 flying

LouP

Flight Sim Junkie
Hi,

I've recently got involved in BF2 and was very surprised to find that there is a lot of flying going on in there (yes I know it's not FS and yes, I live in a closet). The game seems to bring back memories of my CFS days only with beefed up graphics and a smaller area to fly in. I never noticed any mention of that here so thought I would just put it out there. I hooked a joystick up to the game and have been piloting mostly the helicopters. The other thing is that this sure is not "peacful" flying like in FS but I start my own LAN server if I want to just practice my piloting skills in there.

I'm the flying expert in BF2 when playing in a LAN with friends. I fly the Pumas/Blackhawks and they man the door guns and shoot up everything that moves.

Jets aren't fun though, as the maps are *way* too small to put them to any effective use.

BF2 is a great game. I played the heck out of it back in 06.

Since the pilot can eject out of the vehicles, it makes for some interesting scenarios. Just type in "BF2 Stunt Flying" on youtube and get ready to be amazed! Some of the tricks are awesome. Wish we could do similar stuff in FS9 :)

I used to fly the blackhawks by myself, then switch over to the gunner position to shoot while the chopper slowly started to spin and crash....and just before it hits the ground, i'll jump back into the pilot seat and regain control....lots of fun....

i just stick to the Blackhawk and Little Bird, i'm an insertion pilot, i specialise in getting squads where they wanna go, road kills in a black hawk are a staple diet of mine, spot a sniper on the run in to drop, no problem, land on him on the return leg to pick up a squad requesting airlift :kilroy: if i have to bail out well i always like to make sure i have a good weapon to deal with what i may find.... M95 being a personal Favourite for everything INCLUDING CQB :icon_lol: gotta love my mouses macro, 1 click means i can empty the pistol mag in about 1.5 seconds :icon_lol:
