• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

OT: Congratulations Sgt First Class Monti ...

Congrats to Sgt Monti - sad it had to be given posthumously though. :medals:
Thank you for your sacrifice Sgt. Monti to this country. This country owes you and all the other brave men and women a debt of gratitude for your sacrifice. For anyone interested here's a full article on today's ceremony including texts of the speeches made by President Obama and Senator Kerry from Boston.com.

Here's an another Boston.com article that talks more about his moral character and compassion.
The same article also describes the events surrounding his death.

The US Army now has a website honoring Jared Monti - http://www.army.mil/medalofhonor/monti
May Sgt. First Class Monti rest in peace. Let us not forget this hero. My prayers go out to his family and friends that loved him.

Man, that takes balls. That guy is a hero through and through.

I'll tell you one thing though, I'm tired of going to funerals and memorial services. I just got back from one. My brother's Army buddy who I knew well too was KIA. He left behind a wife and three very small children. With this administration, things will only get worse. Simply leaving will not end this war.

We lost a on here. He was a friend of brother since the 4th grade. There was memorial service that my brother couldn't even go do to becouse of school at Sac State.
