OT: floatplane take-off

There are a number of problems in modeling hydrodynamics in FS. Curently in FSX the fluid dynamics tend to model a planing boat/aircraft and has an overall friction value that is far to low.

The result is that takeoffs require little technique, especially the critial getting on the step and even worse the landing runs go on and on and on. Careful placement of the contact points can help, but still only a fair approximation.

A real floatplane (I have one) is more fun than either boats or airplanes!

Thanks for info, now I understand better as I'm often in floatplanes in FSX and know the landing runs are too long.

Thanks for the video post. Lots of good videos on that page.:medals:

OT, in the spirit of the original post http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4rOQODwhX4&feature=related for the bush-minded pilots looking for the unusual. :guinness::icon29::guinness:

Wasn't this very maneuver replicated in Aerosoft's FS Flight Tales 1 FS mission pack?
Didn't know that! Thanks for the HU!
WilyCoyote4: about the grizzly and the Beaver, I used this kind of scenario as the subject of a watercolor some years ago!

I too wish FS Hydro-Dynamics were better....
