Guys,
I have been spending a lot of time at the airport the past week or so working on my latest project. I picked this little C-140A up a couple of weeks ago and have started doing some cosmetic restorations to it. It has excellent exterior paint and a good low time engine. I know the previous owner and he had owned the plane the past 23 years. Very minor damage history and no corrosion. A real solid Bird with a Cont. C-90 engine.
I have been working on restoring the instrument panel, here are some before and after shots. In one picture you can see the new black plexi panel being held up and where it will be installed to replace th old one which is faded and crazed. I also have yet to add the compass correction card and the C-140 decals to the control yokes.
The plane flys like a dream, is light as a feather and cruises at 110 mph on 5.6 GPH.
After the panel, I will be replacing the window and door latches and doing some additional interior work.
Steve
