Home for tea and tiffin!
AS promised here are some photos from the Thunder Day, actually it was a soggy day too, with no let up in the rain. rain I can cope with but with temperatures not above 9C, I had to make frequent forays into the NAAFI for hot char and tiffin! Not all the aircraft advertised started up, and the Spitfire flypast was scrubbed. Boo! However It is always a delight to feel the Nimrod shake the earth beneath your feet and to see the Buccaneer taxi around. I was surprised how noisy the DH Devon was. I had a look around the exhibits in the hangers and saw that the aircraft have been moved around. in the big T2, there was a space made in the centre so the Halifax and the Dakota are more accessible. I also made pilgrimage to see the Mossie NF restoration. Work is now being done on the engines. Website has that they should be up and running by the end of the month for the Dehavilland weekend! We'll have to see that!
Now this weekend I'm off to St Albans for brother-in-law's wedding, so I feel an afternoon in the Mosquito museum coming on!!
